The social investment market unlocks private capital to help finance social sector organisations and support disadvantaged individuals and groups, generating social benefits. This report was jointly commissioned by Big Lottery Fund, Big Society Capital, City of London and HM Government and provides a robust scrutiny of the size and characteristics of the UK social investment market. In addition and for the first time, the report presents detailed evidence of the positive economic impact of the market, nationally and regionally. These results give weight to the business case for social investment.
