Details
The health infrastructure plan (HIP) will deliver a long-term, rolling 5-year programme of investment in health infrastructure, including capital to:
- build new hospitals
- modernise the primary care estate
- improve mental health facilities
- invest in new diagnostics and technology
- help eradicate critical safety issues in the NHS estate

A correction has been made to the table on page 20: the investment in new diagnostic screening equipment is £200m not £250m. In the first table in Annex A, the column heading 'Site' has been changed to 'Proposed sites' for the hospitals to be developed in HIP1.
