Heat networks: Advice for customers and the industry

Following our recommendations to Government, the CMA has published advice for consumers and reminded the industry of its obligations.

Details

Heat networks provide homes with heat and hot water from a central source via insulated pipes, but unlike other energy services are currently not regulated. Ahead of recommended regulatory changes, set out in its final report, the CMA has also written an open letter to the industry, reminding energy suppliers of their obligations under relevant consumer and competition law and has published advice for existing or prospective heat networks customers.
