Details

This project designed and piloted a testing protocol for greenhouse gas and air quality pollutant emissions from heavy goods vehicles (HGV). The protocol can be used with gas and dual-fuelled HGVs.

This emissions testing project was commissioned to address the current lack of real-world data on both:

  • methane slip
  • air quality pollutant emissions

from gas and dual-fuelled (diesel/gas) vehicles. The project leads on from the low carbon truck trial which revealed an issue with unburned methane emissions (methane slip) from some trial vehicles.
