Details

The report states that overall Highways England has performed well in the last year of the first ‘Road investment strategy’, including:

  • meeting most of its key performance indicators
  • starting construction on 23 schemes, while completing 7 that were already under construction
  • developing the second ‘Road investment strategy’ that was announced in March 2020

This report builds on:

  • advice from the Office of Rail and Road in its role as Highways Monitor
  • advice from Transport Focus in its role as road-user watchdog
  • Highways England’s own assessments of its performance

The performance report for 2018 to 2019 was published in July 2019.
