Details of the application

Hills Quarry Products Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from a groundwater (limestone) fed lake, Chinham Lake between National Grid References SU3121794897, SU3148594915, SU3144594665, SU3124594700

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 200 cubic metres an hour
  • 1,600 cubic metres a day
  • 120,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 01 January and 31 December inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for Mineral washing.
