Details

The report identifies Historical Railways Estate structures (bridges, tunnels and embankments, for example) potentially suitable for cycling and walking routes. Produced by the active travel charity Sustrans, it concludes that:

  • 26 structures are likely to be useful for use as part of the National Cycle Network (NCN) or local cycling and walking routes
  • 24 structures might be useful for local cycling and walking routes but are not considered in current plans
  • 25 structures are unlikely to be useful
