Details

The Office for Budget Responsibility was established in 2010 to provide independent and authoritative analysis of the UK’s public finances. The Chancellor to the Exchequer has asked Sir David Ramsden, Chief Economic Advisor to HM Treasury, to complete a review of the organisation. The objective of this review is to build on the analysis and conclusions of the external review published in September 2014, focusing on the existing regime and framework of the OBR and its role in enhancing UK fiscal credibility. The outcomes will be published in the summer.

Read the written statement made by the Chief Secretary to the Treasury (Greg Hands), announcing the review of the OBR.
