Hochtief (UK) Construction Limited and J. Murphy & Sons Limited Joint Venture has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from the Chalk at Bexley at National Grid Reference (NGR) TQ 50004 72653 to transfer it to the River Cray at NGR TQ 49548 73357 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 32.4 cubic metres an hour
  • 777.6 cubic metres a day
  • 166,406.4 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 30 November inclusive in each year.
