Honicombe Ltd: application made to abstract water

Honicombe Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 15/47/015/G/093, which authorises the abstraction of water for potable water supply from underground strata comprising slate and thin Limestone at Honicombe Holiday Village, Callington, Cornwall at National Grid Reference SX 41263 70533.

The proposed variation involves adding two new abstraction boreholes at National Grid References SX 41330 70492 and SX 41252 70585 to the existing licence and increasing the existing abstraction licensed volumes. The new proposed abstraction volumes are as follows:

  • 7 cubic metres an hour

  • 150 cubic metres a day

  • 54,750 cubic metres a year
