Horse meat in food: limits of detection of 3 methods of analysis

Details

A peer-reviewed paper which describes a study to evaluate the probability of detecting low concentrations of the horse DNA target using the PCR-CE/FA0220 method (the PCR-CE approach described in the Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs project FA0220), and commercially available kits from Neogen BioKits and PrimerDesign.

The study determined the limit of detection of the three selected methods to assess the comparability of results.
