This document explains how infection control staff in NHS hospitals can report suspected or confirmed outbreaks of norovirus to Public Health England via the Hospital Norovirus Outbreak Reporting System (HNORS) website.

It includes case and outbreak definitions which ensure standardisation of collected data which are used in national surveillance of norovirus.
