Introduction
1. This circular is to confirm the total of up to £10.9 million funding made available to local authorities (LAs) to support the administration of the Verify Earnings and Pensions (VEP) service for the financial year ending (FYE) March 2023.
Funding detail
2. The funding will continue to help provide LAs with the capacity to process VEP Tasks during FYE March 2023. LAs are required to:
- fully engage in the VEP administration process
- effectively utilise funds to process all of the Tasks sent
- accurately complete management information (MI) to record VEP Task outcomes within the VEP service.
3. The individual LA allocations are provided in Annex A.
Monitoring
4. LA-PED’s Performance Development Team (PDT) will receive MI on VEP performance and will monitor this information as it comes through and, where necessary, will engage directly with LAs to maximise performance.
5. PDTs Performance Relationship Managers are also available to discuss concerns regarding any aspect of Housing Benefit service delivery and can be contacted at lawelfare.pdtprm@dwp.gov.uk
