In July, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) published the 2017 Human Rights and Democracy Report. This provided an annual snapshot of global human rights and explained the UK government’s work to advance universal human rights worldwide. It looked at the 30 countries where we believe human rights issues are of greatest concern, and where we consider that the UK can make a real difference.

This statement provides an update on some of most pressing human rights concerns in these countries in the first part of 2018.
