This document provides the UK government response to the Independent Commission for Aid Impact’s recommendations on ‘Tackling Fraud in UK Aid: Country Case Studies’, published on 26 March 2024.

The UK government welcomes this report and thanks ICAI for the findings it has shared, and its recommendations. Addressing fraud is an important issue for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). The actions we commit to implementing through our response will help us to work against fraud in UK aid.

Fraud is an important and ongoing challenge for all governments. We will consider all options to strengthen our counter-fraud capabilities.
