This document is the UK government’s response to the ICAI review examining the prioritisation and redirection of UK aid in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The UK is one of the largest donors to the international response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have committed up to £1.3 billion of UK aid to help end the pandemic as quickly as possible and to address its impacts.

The government welcomes the Independent Commission for Aid Impact’s (ICAI) review of the UK aid response. Independent scrutiny is important to ensure that our policy and programming provide maximum impact and value for money.
