The current number of staff working in Chief Information Officer (CIO) Group is 152. This figure includes all staff involved directly in technical functions and support as well as staff working on non-technical functions, for example, contract and service management and architectural services including standards. CIO Group’s responsibility also extends beyond internal IT services to include many of the department’s “frontline” systems and services.

No. The CIO Group is an internal team which provides technology based services to the department with the support of suppliers.

The department’s systems development/applications management is outsourced to Capgemini.

Currently around 300 production servers.

Currently around 30 although we are in the process of rationalising physical servers and deploying more virtual servers.
