Details

Primary research included workshops and a survey which were supplemented with a desk-based review and global case studies on stakeholder engagement for marine planning authorities. The report used the Better Regulation Principles to evaluate engagement activities including training sessions delivered by the Marine Planning Team, the guidance available on gov.uk including a hypothetical example of marine plan use and the Explore Marine Plans tool. Activities planned by MMO to support LPAs and their statutory responsibility to use marine plans in decision-making are provided in the annex of the final report.
