Details

This technical report, originally published in 2006 and now reprinted, outlines an analytical method developed to measure the illegal dyes Sudans I-IV, Para Red and Rhodamine B in chilli powder.

The report describes an analytical method available for the determination of these dyes in chilli powder using high performance liquid chromatography coupled with ultraviolet detection (HPLC-UV). The method will detect these dyes at concentrations above between 0.1 and 0.8 mg/kg.
