In its November 2010 response to the House of Lords Science and Technology Select Committee’s report Radioactive Waste Management: a Further Update (March 2010), the Government committed to producing an annual report to Parliament, setting out the Government’s progress in relation to the management of higher activity radioactive waste. This is the fifth annual report.

This fifth annual report sets out some of the context, explaining the background to the Geological Disposal Programme as well as covering progress between April 2014 and March 2015. It focuses on the publication of the Implementing Geological Disposal White Paper in July 2014 and early progress with delivery of the actions set out in that White Paper.
