This report reviews the first complete year’s data from field trials of 60 condensing boilers carried out on behalf of the Energy Saving Trust.
The trials had four stated goals:
-
to evaluate the in-situ performance and efficiency of combination (combi) and regular condensing gas boilers;
-
to compare measured efficiencies to the SEDBUK database;
-
to determine the amount of space heating supplied by secondary systems;
-
to compare results to BREDEM/SAP assumptions and Part L requirements and; to provide suggestions as to how BREDEM/SAP might be updated to take account of the trial results.
