Details

The 2014 to 2015 annual report highlights the fact that the last year has been one of considerable transition for the IPCC. Their total net expenditure was £54 million in 2014 to 2015 against a budget of £59.2 million. This is compared to just over £40 million in 2013 to 2014 reflecting the expansion required to meet the Home Secretary’s commitment that they handle all serious and sensitive cases by 2017. They have more than doubled the number of independent investigations taken on, eliminated their appeals backlog and closed more investigations than in the previous year and are working with the Home Office to increase public confidence and strengthen oversight of the complaints system.
