The government commissioned an independent review that assessed the current framework of CMS operational policies and procedures that are intended to provide support and assistance to customers experiencing domestic abuse.
The government was keen for the review to incorporate consultation with survivors of abuse, as well as with stakeholders and specialist services, and to provide recommendations that may help CMS with regards to best practice in supporting its customers to set up a maintenance arrangement safely.
