This guidance is for:
- proprietors of independent schools in England
- senior leadership teams who work with them
It supports proprietors in producing an action plan which will properly demonstrate how they will improve on standards they have failed from the:
It applies to independent schools (also called private schools).
Independent schools will receive an action plan notice if they are failing some of the independent school standards.
It may also be useful for:
- the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted)
- the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI)
- associations in membership of the Independent Schools Council
