In May 2019 the then Home Secretary established an independent review to consider what lessons could be learned after MI5 identified compliance risks within certain technology environments used to store and analyse data.
Sir Martin Donnelly conducted the Compliance Improvement Review which resulted in 14 recommendations. One of these recommendations was that an independent verification of the satisfactory delivery of the change programme should be carried out.
Mary Calam has conducted that independent verification and the government is publishing the verification summary report.
