Indurent Strategic Land Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from superficial deposits in the underground strata at Hemington, Leicestershire, in the two areas bounded by National Grid References (NGRs) SK 45174 29400, SK 45375 29370, SK 45229 29172 and SK 45046 29172; and SK 45036 29110, SK 45242 29154, SK 45250 28675 and SK 44891 28675, to transfer it to Castle Donington Brook at Hemington, Leicestershire, between NGRs SK 45330 29376 and SK 45235 28847 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 79 cubic metres an hour

  • 1,870 cubic metres a day

  • 539,450 cubic metres a year

Further details are this proposed water transfer activity is associated with the construction of two flood compensation areas at Hemington, Leicestershire.
