Since this strategy was published, the UK’s business and economic environment has changed. Creating and supporting jobs remains the government’s central economic focus, but helping to drive growth in existing, new and emerging industries is also a priority. This is why we have transitioned the Industrial Strategy into our Plan for Growth and its related strategies.

The strategy sets out how we are building a Britain fit for the future – how we will help businesses create better, higher-paying jobs with investment in the skills, industries and infrastructure of the future.

We will boost productivity and earning power across the country by focusing on 5 foundations:

  • ideas
  • people
  • infrastructure
  • business environment
  • places

A Welsh language version is available.
