Details

IPSA, known as List V during development, is an assurance framework for personnel security in industry. It will give organisations that meet the appropriate personnel security standards the ability to manage their own vetting through UKSV sponsorship rights.

It will help ensure that individuals who have undertaken National Security Vetting (NSV) are effectively managed and provided with the same degree of aftercare as vetted staff in HMG.

Initially only organisations contracted to the MOD, or as part of the Defence supply chain, will be eligible to undertake the IPSA process. For more information on eligibility criteria see the full policy above.

Guides on the personnel security standards organisations are expected to meet, and the accreditation and assurance process, have been produced to aid organisations in preparing for assurance activity that is due to commence in autumn 2021.
