The department received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) requesting the following:-
Please provide details of the Home Secretary policy on the removal of port cases where the subject of removal would fall within DP 3/96 if it were in an in country cases. Please provide full details of the policy, including any relevant instructions to immigration officers who deal with such cases.
Confirmation that the Home Secretary policy to treat unmarried partners and same sex couples in the same way as married couples are treated under DP3/96.
