Details

This prison service instruction (PSI) and probation instruction (PI) contains guidance for prison and probation staff on how to keep information safe from risks. Risks include anything that could make information held by the organisation less:

  • confidential
  • trustworthy
  • accessible (for authorised people when they need it)

It covers:

  • identifying and recording risks to information
  • roles and responsibilities
  • business continuity planning
  • what to do if a risk escalates

This is a current PSI. It came into effect on 11 May 2016.
