Inherited metabolic diseases: PKU not suspected, further investigation required

Inform specialist or designated phenylketonuria (PKU) teams that a baby's newborn blood spot screen has found raised levels of phenylalanine and tyrosine.

Letter template to tell clinicians a newborn blood spot screen has found a baby to have raised phenylalanine and tyrosine.

The letter specifies that the issue requires further investigation but the results are not suggestive of phenylketonuria.
