This brochure showcases research and development in highly-innovative enabling technologies in aerospace (HITEA).

More than 30% of the £19 million funding so far for the HITEA programme has gone to SMEs. There have been more than 80 industry partners in total.

The case studies tell the story of the projects from their perspective. They range from optic sensors and predictive maintenance to finding alternatives to hazardous materials and downloading data from aircraft by laser beam.
