Details

This report describes how the 10 IFCAs in England worked between September 2018 and September 2022.

IFCAs are statutory regulators responsible for sustainably managing the exploitation of sea fisheries resources between territorial baselines and 6 nautical miles. They balance the social and economic benefits of exploiting resources with the need to protect the marine environment, or help it recover from past exploitation.

This report has been laid before parliament by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. It meets the requirements of section 183(1) of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009.
