Dear
1. Re: Freedom of Information Act 2000
Thank you for your email of 10 May in which you requested from the Insolvency Service:
“Please would you provide the total number of referrals made to the Insolvency Service from Companies House for each of the past 3 years.
Please would you separate these figures into the following categories; late filings, fraudulent filings, and other.”
Your request has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
I can confirm the agency holds some of the information you have requested.
Owing to the way in which the information relating to criminal referrals is recorded and held, we are unable to separate the referrals in to categories as requested.
The information shows the total number of criminal referrals from Companies House (CH) separated into two categories: the number of referrals (of unique subjects) for PSC matters and the number for non PSC matters, such as offences relating to the re-use of prohibited company names PSC refers to the prosecution regime under the Companies Act 2006 for people with significant control.
I have provided answers to your question in the table below:
1.1 Referrals received (Unique Subjects)
CH - Non PSC | CH - PSC | Total | |
---|---|---|---|
2018/19 | 22 | 770 | 792 |
2019/20 | 53 | 291 | 344 |
2020/21 | 7 | 91 | 98 |
If you are not satisfied with the response we have provided you and would like us to reconsider our decision by way of an internal review (IR), please contact our Information Rights Team at foi@insolvency.gov.uk or by post at:
