Dear
Re: Freedom of Information Act 2000
Thank you for your email of 27 January in which you requested from the Insolvency Service:
-
In an FOI response from 2021, the Insolvency Service published the Final Written Feedback Report that it had received from Stonewall for the Workplace Equality Index 2020. What actions have been taken in response to each of the recommendations in that report?
-
Please provide all LGBT policy or guidance that has been published within the service since receipt of that report, including any related impact assessments.
Your request has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
I can confirm the agency holds the information that you have requested and has been provided below, and as an attachment to this notice.
For part 1 of your request, the actions that were taken in response to the recommendations from the feedback report for each section have been collated below:
Section 1
- A Gender and Intersex Policy was developed and established in the Agency. This includes a policy around transitioning at work.
Section 2
- A statement around valuing diversity, explicitly inclusive of sexual orientation and gender identity was added to job packs and pages, which also made potential applicants aware of all Agency networks
Section 3
- Terms of Reference has been established across all networks, this is not exclusive to the LGBT+ Network
Section 4
- Members of the LGBT+ network and allies group shared their stories internally
- The allies group was formalised and the network attended Diversity and Inclusion sessions in the workplace to talk about the Network and allies groups, and raise awareness of the activities and support that they provide
Section 5
- The LGBT+ Network marked notable days with blogs and events from the membership
- We have a LGBT+ Network sponsor who is a senior leader, helping us to spread awareness of LGBT+ issues among their cohort when required
Section 6
- No major action was taken in regards to changes as a result of this section. Analysis was undertaken regarding sexual orientation and gender by pay grade
Section 7
- No activity was undertaken in regards to this section
Section 8
- No activity was undertaken in regards to this section
Section 9
- No activity was undertaken in regards to this section
Section 10

In response to part 2 of your request I have attached all published guidance, which is available to all employees of the Insolvency Service on our intranet.
