The Net Zero, Energy and Climate Change Interministerial Group met on 30 June 2021. The meeting was chaired by the Minister for Business, Energy and Clean Growth (BEIS), Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP.

What was discussed

The Interministerial Group welcomed new ministers from the Scottish and Welsh governments, and also a new Minister for the Economy from the Northern Ireland Executive, recognising their changed portfolios.

The Group then discussed progress in the context of intergovernmental engagement on the Net Zero Strategy, the upcoming UK government Hydrogen Strategy as well as next steps for the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).
