This document contains the findings from interviews with 44 school leaders and their views on recruiting teachers from abroad. It aims to help understand their motivations, behaviours and the possible benefits and barriers to recruiting internationally.

The document also includes the results from a survey of international teachers who trained in another country, which looked at:

  • experiences of applying for Qualified Teacher Status, visas and jobs
  • perceptions and experiences of teaching in England
  • future intentions
