The Drug Strategy Team sets the strategic direction on drug policy, influencing a range of Whitehall departments and agencies and local delivery partners such as the police and local authorities. Drugs policy remains an area of significant interest to politicians and the media and is continually under the spot light. 0.4 Outcomes

Specifically, we are looking for an intern who would enjoy:

  • understanding the detail of the current global debate on drug policy, informed by organizations such as The Organisation of American States, the UKDPC, and Release among others, to inform development of the UK position in the build up to UN discussions in 2014 and 2016.

  • consider the changes to delivery mechanisms through the implementation of localism reforms, developing information routes so that local decision makers are able to make informed decisions about the provision of drug treatment, enforcement and education services.

  • supporting the wider team in a range of parliamentary business, policy development and strategy in delivering the UK’s Drug Strategy.
