Appendix D: Costs and benefits by river basin district
Published 29 November 2022
Applies to England
Appendix D to Investment requirements for England’s river basin management plans.
This appendix provides costs and benefits by river basin district. Costs have been broken down by river basin district in several ways. Where detailed programmes of measures were available, such as the Water Industry National Environment Programme, specific local costs are available. Where there is no geographically specific programme available, but the relative scale of the problem is known in each river basin district, this has been used to divide costs appropriately. An example of this is costs relating to the rural land management sector. If neither of these types of evidence are available, costs have been split either by land area, citizen population, or divided equally across all river basin districts.
