The issue with odour has been resolved.

In 2006 Jack Moody Ltd was granted permission to process food and green waste in an enclosed composting building. This was in addition to the green waste the company was processing on a separate part of the site. It is a legal requirement for waste containing food to be composted indoors for environmental reasons, it also prevents the spread of animal disease. In 2010 the Environment Agency took enforcement action against the company due to breaches of their environmental permit. Following a number of complaints in 2012, Environment Agency officers carried out a series of thorough investigations. As a result Jack Moody Ltd were required to improve its operating procedures and infrastructure. Last year (2014) the Environment Agency received fewer calls than previous years in terms of reports of odour escaping from the site.
