Details
The JSA sanctions early warning trial tested the effect of giving claimants facing a sanction an additional 14 days to provide evidence of compliance.
The trial ran from April 2016 to September 2016, during which 6,500 sanction referrals went through the trial process. Of those claimants who received a sanctions warning letter, this analysis looks at:
- the amount and effect of evidence that was provided by claimants during the additional 14 days
- the effect the trial may have had on the volume of sanctioned claimants who requested a mandatory reconsideration
Authors: Stephanie Llewelyn and Sarah Fothergill (Department for Work and Pensions).
