John Grant (Donington) has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from an un-named drain within black sluice Internal Drainage Board near Witham within Lincolnshire along a reach between National Grid References TF 25731 44400 and TF 26003 44069.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 108 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,500 cubic metres a day
  • 7,500 cubic metres a year

Water is proposed to be abstracted between March and November for direct spray irrigation of crops.
