UK-Georgia Wardrop Strategic Dialogue, fourth round: joint communique

The governments of Georgia and the UK agreed this communique in the fourth annual UK-Georgia Wardrop Strategic Dialogue, in London on 23 to 24 October 2017.

The Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson welcomed Mikheil Janelidze for a bilateral visit to the UK from 23 to 24 October 2017, while the Defence Secretary Michael Fallon welcomed Georgia’s Defence Minister.

During this time Minister for Europe Sir Alan Duncan and the Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Georgia, Mikheil Janelidze led the fourth round of the UK-Georgia ‘Wardrop Strategic Dialogue’. The dialogue is named after Sir Oliver Wardrop, the connoisseur of the Georgian language and culture who was the UK’s first Chief Commissioner of the Transcaucasus in Tbilisi from 1919 to 1920. It covers political, defence security and foreign policy, economic and commercial and people-to-people issues.
