Details

The review, commissioned by the Minister for Policing and the Fire Service, considered police provision of forensics paying particular attention to quality and market stability issues. It did not examine the end-to-end investigative process or court procedures in detail, but it is recognised that these issues have an impact on stakeholder and public confidence in provision.

The review explains how the current model of provision works and what the risks and issues are in relation to sustainability and public confidence. It then identifies what needs to change to stabilise and improve provision.

The accompanying implementation plan explains what action government is taking with policing to effect these changes.
