Joint statement by the UK and Hong Kong on trade collaboration

Details

Dr Liam Fox, Secretary of State for International Trade, and Mr Edward Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, have issued a joint statement on closer collaboration on trade and economic matters.

The joint statement identifies 3 areas where the 2 governments intend to work together. They include:

  • innovation
  • creative industries
  • Belt and Road initiatives

The joint statement also announced their aim to work together to promote the values of global free trade.
