Insurance is a key sector to the UK and Swiss economies. The UK and Switzerland have signed a bilateral Agreement between the United Kingdom and the Swiss Confederation on direct insurance other than life assurance (UK-Swiss Direct Insurance Agreement) to provide continuity when the UK is no longer subject to the EU-Swiss Direct Insurance Agreement.
