Among the announcements made in the coalition government’s June 2010 emergency budget was a 2-year pay freeze for those in the public sector earning over £21,000 from 2011 to 2012. The judiciary comes within the scope of this pay freeze which will save £3.3 billion a year by 2014 to 2015.

There will, therefore, be no changes to judicial salaries and fees during 2011 to 2012, aside from a few adjustments resulting from transitional arrangements for some tribunal judges.
