Modified test materials for pupils with a visual impairment

1. Standard materials

The standard versions of the key stage 1 tasks and tests are produced as A4 booklets, printed in colour. The text size is usually 16 point.

2. Modified large print

Modfied large print versions of the materials are produced as A4 black and white booklets. They include some text modifications. Diagrams are modified or removed. The print is large and bold. The text size is 24 point. Models may be supplied for some questions.

3. Braille

Braille versions of the materials are produced as Grade 2 braille on paper, Brailon, heat swell paper and plastic film. The updated British braille code (RNIB 2004) is used.

Braille capitals are used. There are some text modifications. Diagrams are modified or removed. Models may be supplied for some questions.
