The last year in which science sampling took place was 2018. Ministers have since decided not to undertake any further science sampling at key stage 2 (KS2).

However, schools should still make teacher assessment (TA) judgements and submit TA data for science at the end of KS2.

Details

This was the first year of a new sampling methodology, the details of which are explained in this document. The change in methodology means that comparisons cannot be made with previous years. However, once the next KS2 science sampling assessment is completed in summer 2016, a new time series will be created.
