Details

KS2 English reading tests were administered in schools in May 2023. Modified test materials and mark scheme amendments were also provided.

Please note the MLP papers on this page are not in the same format in which they were administered in previous years. Following comprehensive research into the accessibility and adaptability of the KS2 MLP test papers, we are changing their format from B4 18-point to A4 24-point in 2024. We adapted the MLP papers from the past three years and made them available in the new format instead, so that you can familiarise pupils with the new format if you wish. Please note these adapted versions have not been through the usual rigorous modification and checking process but will help to give pupils an indication of what to expect in May 2024.

Please refer to the copyright ownership report for details of how schools, educational establishments and third parties can use these materials.

  1. We have revised the practice materials for the KS2 MLP test papers based on further research on their accessibility and adaptability, as well as feedback from users. These revised materials in the A4 24pt format are more consistent with the those that will be published in May 2024.

  2. Replaced the B4 18-point Modified Large Print (MLP) papers that pupils sat in May 2023 with adapted A4 24-point versions, so schools can familiarise themselves and pupils with this new format for 2024.

  3. First published.
